Datasensing UFK1 Series

The UFK1 Series represents a new generation of ultrasonic fork (slot) sensors, engineered specifically for label detection and film sensing applications. Unlike optical fork sensors, the UFK1 uses ultrasonic waves, enabling it to detect transparent, reflective, metallic, glossy, or low-contrast labels with exceptional reliability.

The built-in fork design guarantees perfect emitter–receiver alignment, eliminating manual adjustment and ensuring consistent, high-precision performance even on difficult materials.

Design & Functionality

  • The UFK1 integrates the ultrasonic transmitter and receiver in a single U-shaped housing, delivering perfect mechanical alignment with no calibration required.
  • Key performance features include:
β€’ Ultrasonic label detection, effective on any type of label or film.
β€’ Automatic Teach-in, allowing effortless setup for various label thicknesses and substrates.
β€’ High switching speed, supporting rapid labeling machines and high-throughput packaging lines.
β€’ Immune to ambient light, dust, reflections, and color variations.
β€’ Stable detection window even with varying material properties.
  • The UFK1 is widely suitable for labeling machines, reel-fed systems, film packaging lines, and printing equipment.

Important: The UFK1 detects all label types, including transparent labels, where optical sensors often fail β€” making it a top choice for modern labeling systems.

Total Crossed Beams

(Applied to ultrasonic fork technology)

  • The fork shape forms a stable and uniform ultrasonic field across the sensing gap.
  • This provides consistent, repeatable detection, even as materials vibrate or shift during movement.

Beam Pitch Options

(Interpreted as fork width and acoustic field options)

  • Multiple fork-gap dimensions are available:
β€’ Narrow slot for precision label detection
β€’ Wide slot for large webs or thicker materials
  • These variations make the UFK1 adaptable to a wide range of labeling and converting machines.

Important: Different fork widths allow the UFK1 to match specific machine requirements β€” from compact labeling units to high-speed industrial applicators.

Intrinsic Synchronism

  • Internal ultrasonic synchronization ensures stable operation at high speed.
  • Multiple UFK1 sensors can operate side-by-side without interference, thanks to built-in anti-crosstalk technology.

Operational Advantages

  • High-speed switching for rapid applicators
  • Reliable detection of transparent, reflective, and metallic labels
  • Simple installation with a one-piece fork housing
  • Insensitive to dust, steam, and ambient lighting
  • Ideal for harsh or fast-moving production lines

Applications

  • Label presence and gap detection
  • High-speed labeling machines
  • Packaging film detection
  • Web guiding and converting lines
  • Printing and cutting equipment
