Datasensing DS1 Series

The DS1 Series area sensors use a crossed-beam light grid architecture to monitor an entire detection plane rather than a single point, delivering reliable object detection and measurement across a defined height.

Design & Functionality

With controlled heights selectable from approximately 100 mm, 150 mm or 300 mm, the DS1 Series adapts to a variety of installation heights. The slim profile suits integration into constrained spaces, and the dense beam grid ensures high detection accuracy. Typical minimum resolution is 4 mm in high-resolution models. Response times are as fast as ~1 ms in suitable configurations.

Multi-Beam Architecture & Measurement Capability

• Light-grid matrix provides both presence detection and dimensional measurement of objects passing through the sensing plane.
• Minimum detectable object sizes down to ~4 mm with high-resolution models, ~7 mm with standard resolution.
• Sensing distances up to ~4 m depending on model variant and installation conditions.
• Analog output (0-10 V) corresponds to the number of beams interrupted, enabling measurement feedback in addition to simple switching.
• Output options include PNP switching and analog combined output for more advanced integration.
