The S5 Series delivers a highly versatile family of tubular photoelectric sensors in a standard M18 form, designed for demanding industrial automation tasks. With models ranging from close-range detection to long-span through-beam sensing (up to 12 m nominal), the series provides flexible optical configurations, robust mounting, and industrial-grade durability.

Design & Functionality

• The series uses a tubular M18 × 1 housing (Ø18 mm) in a plastic ABS/PMMA housing, making it compatible with standard industrial mounts and compact systems. 
• A broad range of optical functions is available: fixed-focus versions (e.g., 15–50 cm), diffuse-reflection, retro-reflective (up to ~4 m), through-beam (up to ~12 m) and fibre-optic variants. 
• The series supports both cable and M12 connector options, and both 3-wire AC and 4-wire DC versions, with output types configurable as NPN or PNP and with Dark/Light mode. 
• Many models offer sensitivity adjustment via trimmer, and a green stability LED (in addition to red output LED), enabling quick alignment and signal-monitoring during installation. 
• Designed for industrial environments: the housing provides IP67 protection, ensuring performance in dusty or splash-exposed conditions. 

Total Crossed Beams

• Retro-reflective models reach up to ~4 m nominal sensing distance, through-beam models up to ~12 m.

Intrinsic Synchronism

• The electronics are fully integrated — no special synchronisation wiring is required — simplifying installation.
• Time-before-availability after power-up is ≤ 200 ms in many S5 variants.
