Datasensing S62 Series
The S62 Series offers a complete family of compact universal photoΒelectric sensors, engineered for versatile installation, wide detection span, and industrial durability. With the same mechanical footprint for all optical variants, the series supports nominal sensing distances from a few centimetres to tens of metres β making it highly adaptable to diverse automation tasks.
Design & Functionality
- The S62 sensors utilise a standardised cubic housing (approx. 50 Γ 50 mm, depth ~18 mm), simplifying mechanical mounting, stock management and machine design.
- Optical mode variants include:
β’ Background suppression models with ranges from ~30β¦300 mm or ~60β¦600 mm depending on optics.
β’ Diffuse proximity models with nominal ranges ~0β¦900 mm (standard) or ~0β¦2000 mm (long) on white targets.
β’ Polarised retro-reflective models with nominal spans ~0.1β¦8 m (LED) or up to ~20 m (Laser).
β’ Through-beam (emitter/receiver) models with nominal spans up to ~0β¦25 m in standard versions. - Supply voltage options include 10β¦30 V DC (for transistor output versions) or 24β¦240 V AC / 24β¦60 V DC (for relay versions) providing installation flexibility.
- Output options: NPN or PNP configuration, selectable NO/NC logic, and in some models relay outputs (SPDT) for AC/DC control systems.
- The housing is rated IP67 for mechanical protection, suitable for industrial dust or splash conditions.
Total Crossed Beams
(Here interpreted as ensuring a fully reliable detection field across the sensing area rather than literal crossed beams.)
- The S62 Series ensures a consistent detection zone across its wide span of optical modes and installation clearances β giving fewer missed detections, higher repeatability, and reliable performance in conveyor, packaging or machine-side applications.
- Because all variants retain the same footprint, machine designers and service staff benefit from uniform mounting and mechanical interchangeability.
Beam Pitch Options
(Here interpreted as variant options for sensing distance/optic rather than literal beam pitch.)
- Example: Background suppression ~30β¦300 mm or ~60β¦600 mm.
- Example: Diffuse proximity ~0β¦900 mm standard, or ~0β¦2000 mm long-range.
- Example: Polarised retro-reflective up to ~8 m (LED) or ~20 m (Laser).
- Example: Through-beam spans up to ~0β¦25 m.
- These options allow you to select an S62 model matched to your target size, mounting distance, background conditions and control logic β delivering design flexibility.
Intrinsic Synchronism
- The electronics and optics are integrated within the housing β no external synchronising modules are required β simplifying installation and reducing wiring complexity.
- With built-in trimmers, status LEDs, and standard housing across variants, setup, calibration and maintenance are streamlined.
Operational Advantages
- Versatile detection in one series: With background suppression, diffuse, retro-reflective and through-beam options, the S62 Series covers a broad spectrum of applications β reducing the need for multiple sensor families.
- Space-efficient footprint with full span capability: The compact 50Γ50 mm body accommodates both short-range and long-span detection without changing machine mounting design.
- Flexible integration: Multiple supply voltages, output logic choices and standard mechanical footprint enable seamless integration into a variety of machine control systems.
- Industrial robustness: IP67 protection, ABS/PMMA housing, multi-turn or mono-turn adjustment trimmers, and broad ambient conditions support challenging factory environments.
- Applications: Ideal for packaging machines, conveyor lines, intralogistics, material-handling systems, processing machines, and any environment where installation flexibility, detection span versatility, and reliable sensing are essential.
