Datasensing RX Series
The RX Series provides a versatile family of photo-electric sensors engineered for a wide range of detection tasks β from short-range background suppression to long-span detection up to several metres. With options across diffuse reflection, retro-reflective, polarised, through-beam and background suppression modes, the RX line delivers flexible installation, high sensing span, and industrial reliability.
Design & Functionality
- The RX series uses a βMaxiβ housing format with compact yet robust dimensions (~26 Γ 86.6 Γ 61 mm for one diffuse model) allowing long-range detection in a well-structured form-factor.
- Optical modes include:
β’ Diffuse reflection long-distance models (e.g., nominal ~4.5 m on white target)
β’ Background suppression models with ranges ~0.05 β¦ 0.3 m (50-300 mm) for close object detection near backgrounds
β’ Retro-reflective, polarised and through-beam versions available, enabling versatile detection in different application layouts. - Output logic: For DC versions, selectable NPN/PNP and NO/NC, for AC/DC versions relay output (NO/NC) β enabling integration with different control systems and logic architectures.
- Sensitivity adjustment via trimmer enables fine-tuning of detection thresholds for varying target sizes, backgrounds or ambient lighting conditions.
- LED indicators: Two LED indicators (green for stability/ready, red for output/alignment) with 360Β° visibility support quick alignment and diagnostics.
- Protection rating IP65, ensuring the sensor is suitable for industrial environments with dust or moderate splashing.
Total Crossed Beams
(Here interpreted as the sensor offering a reliable full detection path across the targeted measurement zone rather than literal crossed optical beams.)
- The RX Series ensures a consistent detection field, whether in short-span background suppression or long-span diffuse mode, reducing missed detections and enhancing reliability in automated systems.
- This is particularly valuable in machine-vision, conveyor detection, sorting systems or any scenario where target presentation or background may vary significantly.
Beam Pitch Options
(Here interpreted as selectable sensing-distance/variant options rather than literal beam pitch.)
- Example variant: Diffuse reflection long-distance model with nominal sensing distance ~4.5 m on a white target.
- Example variant: Background suppression model with nominal sensing distance ~50 mm (blind zone ~50 mm) up to ~300 mm.
- These variant options enable you to select an RX model suited to your target size, installation distance, background condition and control logic β offering design flexibility.
Intrinsic Synchronism
- All electronics and optic modules are self-containedβno external synchronisation wiring or modules are requiredβmaking the RX Series simpler to install and commission.
- Time-before-availability after power-on is β€ 200 ms in many models, enabling quick startup and minimal downtime.
Operational Advantages
- Wide-range detection capability: With versions offering sensing distances from very short (e.g., 50 mm) to long (up to ~4.5 m), the RX Series covers a broad spectrum of applications.
- Flexible logic and output options: Whether you have a DC system with NPN/PNP logic or an AC/DC system requiring relay outputs, the RX line adapts to your control architecture.
- Reliable in industrial conditions: With IP65 protection, LED diagnostics, sensitivity adjustment and robust housing, the sensor is built for factory automation.
- Applications: Suitable for conveyors, packaging lines, material-handling systems, presence/absence detection, long-span beam detection, machine-tool sensors and any environment where versatility, long detection span, and compact installation are required.
