Datasensing QX Series
The QX Series delivers a high-performance family of miniature cubic photo-electric sensors, engineered for compact installation, fast response, and industrial robustness. With axial and right-angle optics, visible red light emission in reflex modes, long-distance capability, precision beam alignment and selectable logic/output types, this series provides versatility in detection, high-speed switching, and excellent mounting flexibility.
Design & Functionality
- The housing is extremely compact (approx. 15 × 23 × 43–47 mm for some models) enabling installation in very tight machine frames or conveyor side-frames.
- Optical variants include: diffuse reflection up to ~300 mm nominal for white target; other variants support longer spans depending on model optics and reflector options.
- Switching frequency up to ~750 Hz and response time ~666 µs in typical diffuse models — delivering very fast detection for moving targets.
- The output logic is selectable NPN/PNP (in many models), with high output current (>300 mA) capability for direct control of actuators or relays.
- Dual LED indicators (threshold and stability) provide quick diagnostics and alignment check at a glance.
- Protection rating of IP65, enabling use in industrial environments with dust or moderate splash exposure.
Total Crossed Beams
(In this sensor context, this term is used to imply a full, reliable detection field rather than literal crossed optical beams.)
- The QX Series ensures a stable detection zone even with reduced mounting space, helping maintain reliable detection despite changing target conditions, backgrounds or tight installation.
- This reliability is valuable where consistently detecting objects, parts or presence in constrained spaces is required.
Beam Pitch Options
(Here interpreted as selectable sensing-distance / optic variant options rather than literal beam spacing.)
- Example: A diffuse-reflection variant with ~300 mm nominal sensing distance on a white target.
- Other variants offer right-angle optics (90°) or axial optics, and typically maintain the same small housing size while giving installation flexibility.
- These variant options allow you to select a QX model that matches your target size, mounting clearance, installation orientation and automation requirements — providing design flexibility.
Intrinsic Synchronism
- The electronics and optics are fully integrated—no external synchronisation modules or extra wiring are needed—making installation simpler and reducing commissioning time.
- The fast response and built-in indicator LEDs help reduce setup time and ensure the sensor is aligned and functioning correctly from the start.
Operational Advantages
- Ultra-compact footprint with full performance: The QX Series delivers high switching speeds and flexible optic/mounting options in very small size—ideal for tight spaces.
- Fast detection & high output drive: With response times under 1 ms and high current output capability, the series is well-suited for high-speed automation, conveyor checks, pick-and-place verification or small-part detection.
- Flexible mounting & orientation: With both axial and right-angle optics, and cubic housing, the sensor can adapt to different installation geometries in machines, conveyors, packaging lines.
- Versatile logic and diagnostics: Selectable NPN or PNP output, high output current, LED indicators and trimmer adjustment allow easy integration and quick alignment.
- Applications: Ideal for packaging machinery, conveyor object presence detection, machine tool integration in minimal space, electronics assembly lines, and any automation scenario where compact installation, fast switching, and high reliability are required.
