Datasensing QM Series
The QM Series delivers a high-performance family of miniature cubic photo-electric sensors, engineered for compact installation, long-span detection, and industrial reliability. With models covering diffuse reflection (short to long ranges), polarized reflex, transparent-object detection, emitter/receiver up to ~20 m sensing distances, the series offers versatile optical modes, selectable output logic, and high switching speed for demanding automation tasks.
Design & Functionality
- The series uses a mini cubic housing (approx. 40.6 Γ 21 Γ 13 mm in many variants) that fits into tight machine spaces, side-frames or compact automation zones.
- Optical modes include:
- Diffuse reflection models with nominal sensing distances ~1 m (white target) for medium-span detection.
- Polarized or retro-reflective variants for larger spans or transparent-object detection.
- Emitter/Receiver (E+R) models offering sensing distances up to ~20 m for long-range through-beam detection.
- Output logic is selectable: Light-On or Dark-On, with NPN or PNP versions available β enabling flexible control integration.
- The switching frequency reaches up to 2 kHz, and response time can be ~250 Β΅s in high-speed E+R models β enabling fast detection for moving targets.
- Devices are rated IP67 in standard versions, filled with resin in many variants (except certain background-suppression models) to provide industrial durability.
Total Crossed Beams
(In this context, this term implies reliable detection coverage across the sensing path rather than literal crossed optical beams.)
- The QM Series ensures a consistent detection path even in compact installations, enabling stable detection regardless of target orientation, background reflectivity or mounting constraints.
- This leads to higher reliability, fewer missed detections and better throughput in automation systems where space is tight but performance cannot be compromised.
Beam Pitch Options
(Here interpreted as selectable sensing-distance / variant options rather than literal beam spacing.)
- Example: diffused model with nominal sensing distance ~1 m (white target) in a typical miniature cubic body.
- Example: Emitter/Receiver model offering nominal sensing distance ~20 m in long-span configuration.
- These variant options allow selection of a QM model matched to your target size, range requirements, mounting clearance and background conditions β providing design flexibility.
Intrinsic Synchronism
- The electronics and sensing components are fully integrated within the compact housing β no external synchronisation modules or wiring are required β simplifying installation and maintenance.
- With fast response times and high switching frequency, the QM Series is ready for high-speed production lines and dynamic automation environments.
Operational Advantages
- Versatile optical modes in a miniature form-factor: With diffuse, polarized, reflex, transparent-object detection and long-span E+R options, the QM Series covers a broad spectrum of detection requirements while maintaining minimal footprint.
- High-speed switching: With up to 2 kHz switching frequency and response times down to ~250 Β΅s, the series supports fast-moving conveyors, pick-and-place systems and rapid automation cycles.
- Industrial suitability and compact mounting: The small housing size allows installation where space is limited, while IP67 protection and resin filling provide durability in factory conditions.
- Applications: Ideal for machine-side object detection, packaging line verification, intralogistics conveyor monitoring, transparent material detection, long-span presence detection and any environment where compact installation, versatile detection modes, and high-speed performance are required.
