Datasensing QF Series
The QF Series delivers a high-performance family of miniature photo-electric sensors, engineered for harsh environments, space-constrained installations, and versatile optical modes. With stainless-steel housings, compact cubic form-factor and wide sensing-range variants, this series provides durable reliability, flexible detection, and industrial readiness for demanding automation applications.
Design & Functionality
- The series uses a metallic cubic stainless-steel AISI 316L housing, providing exceptional resistance to corrosion, cleaning agents, mechanical wear β making it ideal for food & beverage, pharmaceutical or wash-down applications.
- Optical modes include:
- Diffuse-reflection wide-angle with nominal distances around ~200 mm on white target.
- Background suppression (BGS) variants, enabling detection of objects very close to backgrounds.
- Polarised reflex variants with nominal ranges up to ~6 m on reflector.
- Emitter/Receiver models with sensing distances up to ~15 m or more.
- Outputs: Typically dual complementary outputs (NO + NC) in NPN or PNP logic selectable.
- Switching speeds: Some models support up to ~1 kHz switching frequency and response time ~500 Β΅s in certain diffuse versions.
- Protection rating: The sensor is rated IP67/IP68/IP69K, enabling installation in harsh or wash-down zones.
Total Crossed Beams
(In this context, interpreted as ensuring consistent detection coverage across the sensorβs field rather than literal crossed beams.)
- The QF Series ensures a stable detection field across its wide range of optical modes, sensor variants and mounting constraints. This means fewer missed detections and better reliability even when targets, background reflectivity or environment vary.
- That stability is critical for automated lines in food & beverage, chemical plants or variable ambient lighting, where sensor reliability is essential.
Beam Pitch Options
(Here interpreted as selectable sensing-distance / variant options rather than literal beam spacing.)
- Example: A diffuse wide-angle variant with nominal sensing distance ~200 mm.
- Example: A background-suppression variant with similar nominal distance.
- Example: A polarised reflex variant with nominal distance up to ~6 m.
- Example: Emitter/Receiver model with nominal range up to ~15 m.
- These variants allow you to select a QF model suited to target size, mounting spacing, background conditions, span and system speed β offering design flexibility.
Intrinsic Synchronism
- The electronics are fully integrated within the sensor housing β there is no need for external synchronisation modules or complex wiring setups β simplifying installation and minimizing downtime.
- With response times as low as ~500 Β΅s and clear indicator LEDs (power and output), setup and diagnostics are streamlined.
Operational Advantages
- Superior industrial protection: Stainless-steel housing, full IP69K rating, chemical resistance and high reliability make the QF Series ideal for wash-down areas, food processing lines, chemical plants and harsh environments.
- Compact form factor: Mini cubic size (~31.4 Γ 21 Γ 11 mm in some models) allows installation in tight machine spaces, conveyor frames or robotic arms.
- Versatile optical modes: With diffuse, BGS, polarised reflex and long-span emitter/receiver options, the QF Series covers a wide range of detection tasks within a single product family β reducing inventory and simplifying selection.
- High-speed switching and reliable detection: With switching up to ~1 kHz and stainless housing protecting against external influences, the series supports high-throughput conveyors, pick-and-place machines, and dynamic manufacturing cells.
- Applications: Ideal for food & beverage manufacturing, pharmaceutical packaging, conveyor detection in harsh zones, robotic feeders, beverage bottling lines, automated wash-down areas, forklift detection and any scenario where compact mounting, industrial reliability, versatile detection modes, and high speed are required.
