The TL50 Series delivers a dedicated family of contrast sensors, engineered for high-precision mark detection, cost-efficient deployment, and industrial robustness. With optimized optics, RGB LED emission and very fine resolution, the series enables detection of the weakest contrast between mark and background or between different surfaces—while maintaining excellent speed and repeatability. 

Design & Functionality

• The housing is compact (approx. 31 × 53 × 80 mm for one variant) with ABS/PMMA construction and multiple fixing holes, designed for installation in packaging machines and print lines where space is at a premium. 
• Optical features include:
  • RGB LED emission with automatic colour selection, enabling detection of coloured marks, grayscale transitions and low-contrast backgrounds. 
  • Ultra-fine resolution optics and spot dimension approx. 1.5 × 5 mm at nominal distance, enabling detection of very small registration marks. 
  • High-speed switching capability up to ~15 kHz and response time around 0.033 ms (≈33 µs) — enabling reliable detection even on fast moving webs/conveyors. 
• Outputs and logic: Selectable NPN or PNP output type and Dark-On/Light-On logic make integration into diverse automation control systems straightforward. 
• Environmental and mechanical design: Rated to IP67 protection; housing built for industrial environments (-10 °C to +55 °C typical operating range) and compatible with packaging and print-industry machine frames. 

Total Crossed Beams

• The TL50 Series ensures a stable detection zone, even when marks vary slightly in size, position, or colour — resulting in fewer missed detections, higher repeatability, and better process stability.
• Its combination of small-spot optics, RGB emission and high switching speed make it especially suited for printing, label registration, film tracking and packaging applications where accuracy, speed, and minimal error are critical.

Beam Pitch Options

(Here interpreted as variant options regarding sensing distance / spot size / switching capability rather than literal beam pitch.)

• Example variant: Nominal sensing distance ~9 mm (for standard contrast model) with spot approx. 1.5 × 5 mm. 
• Example variant: Slightly broader sensing distances (up to ~12 mm) depending on model. 
• These variant options allow you to select a TL50 model that matches your mark size, mounting clearance, background contrast and conveyor speed — providing design flexibility.

Intrinsic Synchronism

• The optics and electronics are integrated within one compact housing — no external synchronisation modules or additional optics required — simplifying wiring and reducing installation complexity.
• With built-in setting pushbuttons (Mark/Background), LED status indicators and quick Teach-in adjusting, the TL50 series supports fast commissioning and reliable maintenance.
