Datasensing AM Series

The AM Series delivers industrial-grade inductive sensing in a standard M12 body, designed for demanding automation environments such as intralogistics, conveyors and AGVs. With multiple variants and mounting options, these sensors ensure reliable detection of metal parts across varying sizes and mounting conditions.

Design & Functionality

• Equipped with a nickel-plated brass M12 × 1 housing, the AM Series is built for mechanical durability and standard mounting compatibility.
• A wide set of nominal sensing distances—2 mm flush-mount shielded, 4 mm non-flush, and 8 mm long-distance unshielded—allow the sensor to be tailored to clearance, target size and mounting geometry. 
• Connection flexibility: fixed cable (2 m) or connector types (M12, M8) plus multiple output logics (NPN, PNP, NO/NC) enable seamless integration into various automation architectures. 
• Built-in electronics provide reverse-polarity protection, short-circuit auto-reset, and impulsive over-voltage protection, ensuring the sensor performs reliably even in harsh industrial conditions.

• The AM Series maintains a consistent sensing zone even when mounting clearance is tight or background materials vary.
• This supports high repeatability (typically < 5 %) and low drift (< 10 %), ensuring dependable detection in dynamic motion or metallic-rich environments. 

Beam Pitch Options

(Here interpreted as selectable sensing distances and mounting variants rather than literal beam pitch.)

• Models include sensing distances of approx. 2 mm (shielded flush), 4 mm (non-flush) and 8 mm (long-distance unshielded) giving you flexibility to match your target size and clearance. 
• High switching frequency (e.g., up to ~2 kHz) supports fast-moving metal detection on conveyors and sorting lines.

Intrinsic Synchronism

• Internal electronics manage detection timing and protective functions, reducing wiring complexity and installation time.
• The sensor is ready for operation quickly after power-up (time-before-availability typically ≤50 ms) enabling efficient system start-up.
