Datasensing Square Series

The Square Series delivers high-visibility, large-face inductive metal-part detection in an unconventional 40 × 40 mm format. With an expanded sensing face, long detection range, and robust build, this series offers reliable detection of metal parts over a wide area, making it ideal for applications where conventional small sensors may struggle.

Design & Functionality

  • The unit features a 40 × 40 mm housing (plastic PBT or other variant) offering a broad active face—suitable for detecting large or mis-aligned metal objects in one go. 
  • Two nominal sensing distance options: ~15 mm for flush-mount (shielded) models, and ~30 mm for non-flush (unshielded) models—enabling selection based on mounting clearance and target size. 
  • Equipped with PNP NO+NC 3-wire output, making it compatible with most PLC and automation control systems. 
  • Designed with industrial-grade features including repeat accuracy < 1% under specified conditions, correction factors for different metals (e.g., copper 0.4, aluminium 0.45, brass 0.5, stainless steel 0.85) for material-specific detection tuning.

  • The Square Series ensures a uniform detection plane across its 40 × 40 mm face, meaning large metal parts or parts presented at an angle will still be reliably detected.
  • This results in fewer missed detections in large-area or high-throughput applications, increasing process reliability.

  • Flush models: nominal ~15 mm sensing distance; non-flush models: nominal ~30 mm sensing distance—allowing the sensor to cover either close-clearance or extended targets. 
  • The large face and long range make this series ideal for heavier or larger metal objects, pallets, conveyors, or where alignment may vary.

  • Electronics are fully integrated, meaning no external synchronisation wiring is needed and installation is simplified.
