Brand: Festo

Festo MS-series Membrane Air Dryer

The Festo MS-series membrane air dryer delivers precise, efficient drying of compressed air by lowering the pressure dew point independent of flow rate. Designed for both standalone and integrated use in modular service units, this dryer fits seamlessly into the MS service unit concept for complete compressed-air preparation.

It features a wear-free membrane design ensuring long operational life and consistent performance with virtually no maintenance. The purge (exhaust) air typically amounts to about 15 % of the total flow rate, helping maintain the dew point reduction across varying loads.

⭐ Important: The membrane dryer achieves a ~20 K pressure dew point drop regardless of flow rate, making it ideal for critical drying applications.

Design & Functionality

Compressed air enters the dryer where the membrane separation technology extracts moisture, purging a small portion of air to the environment while the remaining dry air continues into the system. This process enables consistent drying performance across varying flow conditions.

Various size options (e.g., MS4, MS6) accommodate different flow demands, allowing selection based on nominal flow rate, port size and mounting requirements.

⭐ Important: The ability to choose from multiple sizes and configurations (e.g., MS4 and MS6) ensures optimal matching to system flow and space constraints.

Total Crossed Beams

Within the MS-series, Festo presents a modular concept: from filters and regulators to dryers like this one, ensuring full coverage of compressed-air preparation tasks. This dryer thus integrates into a broader system of service-unit components to provide complete air quality control.

Beam Pitch Options
The dryer is available in multiple sizes with different nominal flow rates and port dimensions. For example, one size supports a standard nominal flow rate of 50–100 l/min (MS4) at 3–12.5 bar. Another supports higher flows (e.g., 200–400 l/min) in the MS6 size.

⭐ Important: These flexible size and flow options allow you to tailor the dryer to your specific system’s demandβ€”whether small packaged machine or large industrial line.

Intrinsic Synchronism

Designed for seamless integration with the MS-series service unit modules, the dryer aligns mechanically and pneumatically with the modular system, allowing compact, efficient assembly and ease of maintenance. Replacement or upgrade of module units is simplified due to the system’s modular architecture.
