MS Series Compressed-Air Porting Blocks

MS Series Compressed-Air Porting Blocks

The Festo MS Series compressed-air porting blocks provide modular branching and distributor capabilities for pneumatic systems. They support integrated check valves, pressure sensors, and mechanical switches, and are designed for flexible installation even in tight spaces, making them ideal for service units, distribution manifolds and compressed-air preparation systems.

Festo MS Series Compressed-Air Porting Blocks

The MS Series from Festo offers a highly modular and configurable solution for branching and distributing compressed-air flows in industrial automation systems. These porting blocks combine robust design with flexible mounting and accessory options to meet a wide range of pneumatic preparation requirements.

These blocks can be configured with optional features such as an integrated non-return (check) valve, a pressure sensor with or without display, and a mechanical pressure switch installed ready-to-use. A β€œnarrow version” with half the width is also available for installations where space is constrained.

⭐ Important: The MS Series enables flexible distribution of compressed air, supports modular assembly into service units, and ensures compatibility with IEC/ATEX hazardous-area approvals where required.

Design & Functionality

These porting blocks function as the central hub of compressed-air distribution systems, providing multiple outlet ports, branching options, and accessory integration in one compact module. They are engineered for installation into service units according to a modular grid-system from Festo, making combination and upgrade of components straightforward.

Total Crossed Beams

(Applied to the functional coverage of the MS block families)
The MS Series covers a full range of service-unit component grid sizes (for example MS2, MS4, MS6, MS9, MS12) enabling high flow rates in small sizes and scalable solutions for larger modules.
This ensures that regardless of your pneumatic distribution complexity, the MS Series can accommodate the branch count, flow capacity and accessory integration needed.

Beam Pitch Options

(Translated as: module sizes, port sizes, functional variants)
Module sizes include grid dimensions like 25 mm (MS2), 40 mm (MS4), 62 mm (MS6), 90 mm (MS9) and 124 mm (MS12) for metric series.
Connection threads vary from M5 / QS-6 up to G2 or NPT variants depending on size. The wide range of sizes allows selection for either compact installation or high-flow manifold systems. Features include:

  • Integrated non-return valve option
  • Pressure sensor with digital/analog output
  • Mechanical switch monitoring
  • Narrow-width variant for confined spaces
  • Certification options for ATEX / UL for hazardous zones 1, 2, 21, 22
⭐ Important: The breadth of size, function and accessory options ensures the MS Series can be optimised for space-constraint, high-flow, and specialised environmental applications.

Intrinsic Synchronism

The modular design ensures consistent flow distribution, minimal leakage and seamless integration of modules in a service unit. Accessories and sub-modules connect into the same grid without disrupting the flow layout. This synchronised modular concept supports easy scalability and maintenance.

Operational Advantages

β€’ Modular assembly means faster installation and easier maintenance.
β€’ High flow capacity in compact module sizes saves space and cost.
β€’ Optional integrated sensors and valves reduce additional component count and wiring.
β€’ Certified for hazardous areas and UL approved variants increases safety and global deployment.
β€’ Narrow-version available for tight installation environments.
Applications: Pneumatic preparation units, compressed-air branching/distribution, factory automation service units, modular machine builds, potentially explosive/hazardous-area pneumatic systems.
