Festo Electric Stoppers

Festo Electric Stoppers provide a streamlined solution for controlling the flow of goods in automated transport systems. Designed to operate without pneumatic supply, these devices combine an electric drive, integrated controller and interface for digital I/O—enabling direct connection to a PLC and mounting on standard conveyor profiles. 

They offer gentle stopping, holding and release of loads between approximately 0.25 kg and 100 kg, and are available in multiple sizes for different applications.

Important: These stoppers function without compressed air, include adjustable cushioning, and are ready for direct digital integration, making them highly efficient and easy to integrate.

Design & Functionality

  • The electric stopper features an integrated motor controller and combined power interface, enabling it to be connected directly to digital I/O of higher-level controllers. 
  • Key features include:
    Three operating positions: Extended stop, cushioned hold, and retracted release—ensuring precise flow control. 
    Adjustable cushioning integrated into the housing, protecting both goods and mechanical components. 
    • For example: The EFSD size 50 unit features an 18 mm cushioning length, current consumption up to 2 A, and mounting in any orientation. 
  • With LED status indicators and M12 plug connectors, the unit simplifies diagnostics and servicing. 
  • Ideal for transfer systems, where mounting is achieved with just two screws directly onto the profile. 

Important: The built-in electronics, adjustable cushioning and direct digital interface mean the electric stopper offers minimal integration effort, clean installation, and efficient stopping of loads without air supply.

    Important: The size options allow you to select the correct electric stopper based on load weight, conveying speed, and line height, giving application-specific flexibility.
